Alliance for An Affordable DC Election Statement

The Alliance for an Affordable DC, a coalition of over 480 small businesses in Washington, D.C., congratulates Mayor Bowser, Council Chairman Phil Mendelson, and D.C. Councilmembers-elect on their election victories. We look forward to working with them in support of small business owners, their employees and working families across the District. As D.C. residents continue to face inflation and small businesses across the city struggle to keep their doors open, resources like the Bridge Fund have been crucial for so many restaurants, markets and other small businesses that are fighting to stay afloat and provide jobs in their neighborhoods. Small businesses are the mainstay of our city, and we ask the D.C. Council to continue to advance efforts to lift them up particularly during this time of economic uncertainty.
